In 2012, Shanghai became the world’s biggest deep water port. Lisa Zhu will take us to the East China Sea in Pudong to explore this busy port. We will drive on one of the longest bridges, the East China Sea Bridge (or “The East Dragon”) where we will see windmills across the sea. The tour includes easy hikes on three small islands. While hiking we will have fantastic views of the ships loading the containers and we will visit a pagoda. We will enjoy the sea breeze while we picnic on top of one of the islands. After the port, we will visit the Maritime Museum where a Ming Dynasty boat, amongst other maritime treasures, is on display. Please bring a picnic lunch.
