Did you know that wulongs are an entire category of teas grouped this way because of its partially oxidized production method? Guangdong, Taiwan, and Fujian are the three major production areas, and each has its own characteristic recipe. During this trek in Shanghai’s largest wholesale tea market, our hosts from Shanghai and Beyond have selected knowledgeable vendors who will offer us tastings while we learn how wulongs developed over the years. From rich, full bodied rock wulongs to fresh and floral ‘monkey-picked’ styles, you’ll be surprised at the diversity of flavors and will no doubt desire to bring home your favorite. As always, unique snacks will be provided.
