The Bund and the British Concession

Event Details

  • Date:

The Bund used to be called the “Wall Street of the East” and was the economic hub of Shanghai for over 100 years. The city’s colonial era began when British traders came to buy goods and settle down. A stroll along the Bund and through the former British Concession will help us imagine the glory and decadence of the “good old times” in Shanghai. Carolin Billetter will give us the broad picture of China’s history and explain Shanghai’s special role during that period, making the golden age come alive again with her stories.
