Qigong is a 4000-year-old system of deep-breathing exercises to move internal energy, called Qi. Shanghai Qigong Research Institute in the Xuhui District is the only official research institute of its kind in China today. It was founded 30 years ago, when there was an estimated 200 million people actively practicing the tradition. Together with Janny Chun from Shanghai Pathways, we will explore the Qigong museum and learn the history of Qigong and its relationship with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). We will then take part in a one-hour lesson with Sun Lei, a Qigong master, assisted by international instructors of the Qi Dao School, that will introduce us to the practice of Qigong. Please wear comfortable clothes and soft indoor shoes.
