Tai Chi Pushing Hands is a two-person training routine practiced in Chinese martial arts. It is the gateway to experientially understanding the martial aspects of internal martial arts: leverage, reflex, sensitivity, timing, coordination, and positioning. Pushing hands works to reverse the natural instinct to resist force with force, teaching the body to yield to force and redirect it. In this class, we will practice the defensive and offensive movement principles to generate, coordinate and deliver power to one another, as well as how to effectively neutralize incoming forces.
