Please join Dr. Jeremy Guo as he introduces Spin Ceramics. He will talk about Spin’s history and explain its design concepts. Ceramics are made in the famous “Porcelain Capital” Jingdezhen, with traditional techniques used in the Ming dynasty. Jingdezhen porcelain is described as “white as jade, thin as paper, and as sweet sounding as a chime.” A team of eleven designers and craftsmen develop new collections in their workshop outside of Shanghai, after which, molds are sent to workshops in Jingdezhen for actual production. Many products, such as the Lotus Bowl, Kung Fu Vases, and Folk-Print Jewelry Boxes, are inspired by the richness of Chinese culture and transformed into their modern form.
