Smart Air Filters is a Beijing-based social enterprise that provides affordable, yet highly effective, air purifiers to people throughout China, India, and Mongolia. Founded by Dr. Thomas Talhelm (U’Chicago) in 2013, Smart Air’s mission is to raise general air pollution awareness, and give more people access to cleaner air.
Noah Willingham, the South China head for Smart Air Filters, will be giving a free informative workshop. The presentation will dive into the science behind air purifiers, air pollution, and masks, and will also address common misconceptions about air pollution. Expect lots of new information and lots of questions answered! Participants can also reserve a DIY air purifier for RMB 200 to build themselves during the workshop. If you would like to order a purifier, please include that information in your registration email to insure time to order supplies. For more information, see smartairfilters.com. This event is family friendly! Food and beverages will be available downstairs for purchase.
