Shanghai History Revisited (NEW)

Event Details

Join us as we discover the treasures of the Shanghai Archives, hidden in a historic building on the Bund. Maja von dem Bongart, sinologist and historian, will lead us on a journey through the modern history of Shanghai as she builds a chronological arch starting in the early days of Shanghai as a bustling trading port, moving through the foreign concessions era and “new China” and the remarkable changes of the last few years, and ending with the possibilities that the future may hold.
