Let’s go back in time to the last century when People’s Square was the heart of the city, where residents flocked to gamble, dance, shop, and take a walk on the weekend. Shanghai and Beyond’s newest member, Sue, represents China’s young, unmarried female population. She’ll guide us through the city’s largest “marriage market”, discussing matchmaking techniques, the mystery behind the umbrella stalls, and the characteristics of a desirable spouse. We’ll also compare traditional marital values with modern ones, and discuss how the younger generation handles marital pressure. Experience this unique blend of history and hysteria in one morning!
