In the heart of Shanghai, noodles are still made on a half-century-old machine. The workers in this small factory have been living and working here their entire adult lives, and most of their customers have been eating noodles here since they were young. Lisa Zhu will take us to this small but reputable noodle factory where we will observe the process of turning flour into fresh noodles before this factory disappears. Our walk will begin at an old Shanghai shikumen neighborhood where we will learn how locals used to live before urbanization changed the city’s traditional lifestyle. This is a fun family event.
