Over the past 5000 years, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has developed into a unique system to diagnose and cure illness. In TCM, the understanding of the human body is based on the holistic view of the universe as described in Taoism. Join Janny Chyn from Shanghai Pathways as we visit the Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Known as the largest professional TCM museum in the world, it boasts more than 14,000 exhibits and almost 10,000 Traditional Chinese Medicine documents. During the tour, we will learn about the history of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, the theory of the five elements, and the three vital elements of the human body: Jing, Qi, Shen. More than 3,000 specimens of Chinese herbal medicine and ready-made herbal products are displayed here.
