This month, as we continue our talks about Chinese culture and traditions, our topic is keeping face in China. We always hear Chinese people talk about “mianzi,” which is simply translated into “face,” but its meaning is far beyond the word. Mianzi is extremely important in Chinese people’s lives. Ben-laoshi will introduce us to the basics of mianzi-culture and give us lots of examples, not only about keeping face in daily life, but also in the office. If you try to learn and understand mianzi-culture, your life in China will be much easier and fun.
