One of the most important holidays, Chinese New Year, is approaching—the year of the pig! Shanghai expat expert Lisa Zhu will take us on a night tour of the beautiful Yu Gardens Lantern Festival (yuanxiao), and enlighten us with the history and culture of this Chinese festival. There will be photo opportunities with beautiful lanterns strung throughout the paths of Yu Garden, leading to the Nine-Bend Bridge and the Tea House. We’ll solve New Year’s riddles and taste tanguan―rice dumplings with sweet or meat fillings! Bring your camera and bundle up for a colorful, celebratory walk. Families are welcome.
