Jing’an Temple and Its Hidden Gems

Event Details

The beauty and history of the Jing’an temple is easy to overlook, given the distractions of shopping and eating on West Nanjing Road. Come roam within the temple walls with us, exploring Buddhism’s sacred geometry and symbolism. The Shanghai & Beyond team will share stories of Bubbling Well Road and the development of Jing’an. We’ll discover hidden architectural gems in a traditional pharmacy as well as the culinary secrets of the temple’s monks. We’ll also taste Shanghai’s decades-old version of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Optionally, after the tour, enjoy the temple’s iconic vegetarian buffet that even a meat eater can’t resist.

Please note: due to guide availability, Lisa Zhu will be leading this tour in place of Tracy Lesh.
