Once a year, a sleepy tea village awakens. Dragon Well, China’s most iconic tea, has a short harvest season in China’s renowned scenic area of Hangzhou. Join Shanghai & Beyond to travel by high speed train and private bus to YangMeiLing tea village where our local family will welcome you as honored guests. Hike up tea terraces to observe the ancient skill of harvesting, enjoy rare photographic moments, and learn about culture, history and legends. Lunch includes a mouth-watering array of specialties that draw inspiration from the local mountains, lakes, and tea bushes. During a tasting lesson you will compare varieties and determine if you really need to spend more for good quality tea. We’ll end with a walk to soak in the village charm.
