Many things have changed dramatically in Shanghai over the past few decades. However, on one street, most of the restaurants have served the same food for more than half a century. Yunnan Lu is home to the city’s most famous vegetarian restaurant, its oldest Muslim restaurant, the city’s first Beijing roasted duck restaurant, and the most DELICIOUS restaurant (the name of the restaurant is actually “delicious!”). Lisa Zhu will tell us the history behind the restaurants and explain the signature dishes of each place, including Bai Zhan Ji, a popular Shanghai chicken entrée. We will taste a specialty dish in one of these restaurants, and everyone will get a small bag of local pastries to bring home a taste of historical Shanghai!
