Cricket Culture – The Residence of Master Wan (Rescheduled)

Event Details

Shanghai and Beyond presents a unique opportunity to visit with a National Championship cricket-fighting master in his home. Mr. Wang resides in a quiet, upscale, suburban villa surrounded by the treasures of his lifetime. On this special visit, you will learn about the culture of cricket fighting, how to shop for a prize-winning cricket, and the modern challenges in dealing with this ancient hobby. He will demonstrate the usage of the equipment you may have seen at the bird and cricket markets, and then we will observe several cricket fighting matches. Mr. Wang is also an antique collector and historian and will share precious artifacts that have been sought after by museum curators. His collection is stunning, even if you’re not familiar with antiques.

Note: No crickets are harmed during this tour. Guests are restricted from wearing scented deodorant, hair spray, perfume or anything with an aroma.
