Chinese New Year, also referred to as the Spring Festival, is a very important holiday and the longest lasting 15 days. Chinese New Year begins with a reunion dinner that is held on New Year’s Eve when family members gather for a celebration and a traditional meal. One of the traditional dishes eaten during the holiday are long noodles because they represent long life. In this hands-on cooking class, we will learn how to make two Shanghainese dishes: Shanghai Fried Noodles and Xialongbao (steamed soup dumplings).
