Get ready for fireworks! The Chinese will be rocking out in spectacular and noisy fashion for the New Year! Lunar New Year is the most popular Chinese family celebration all year as it marks the end of the winter season and is the one time during the year when most Chinese families gather together from near and far. SEA invites you on a night tour of the beautiful Yu Gardens Lantern Festival, or Yuanxiao, with our Shanghai Expat Expert, Lisa Zhu. She will enlighten you and your family with the history and culture of the most important Chinese festival. There will be photo opportunities with beautiful lanterns strung throughout the paths of Yu Garden, leading to the Nine-Bend Bridge and the Tea House. We’ll solve New Year riddles and taste TangYuan―rice dumplings with sweet or meat fillings! Bring your camera and bundle up for a colorful and celebrating walk.
