Guided by photojournalist and Shanghai’s Jewish history expert Dvir Bar-Gal, this three-hour walk will offer a new look at old things. Bring your camera to capture Shanghai’s treasured yet disappearing scenes. The fascinating street sights of this tour will suit anyone, with or without a camera. We will walk off the beaten paths of the Old City. Starting at the Old City’s east gate area, we will stroll westward through the disappearing lanes and markets, going through an invisible time tunnel towards Xintiandi. Bar-Gal will share his experiences and suggest ways to look at the ever-changing city and areas that will soon be gone. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, along with bottled water and a snack. Due to narrow spaces through which we will pass, space on this tour is limited.
