Art Deco in the Old City

Event Details

  • Date:

Art Deco was born in Europe in the 1920s and traveled to the four corners of the earth in the 1930s, penetrating even into the narrow lanes of Shanghai’s “Old City.” While you may be familiar with Art Deco icons like the Peace Hotel and the Bank of China on the Bund, guide Patrick Cranley pretty much guarantees that you will have never noticed the buildings that we will visit on this all-walking tour. And along the way, you will observe some of the rapidly-disappearing lane culture that makes Shanghai so unique.
