Andrew Ruff came to China in 1989 after graduation to get a “perspective-change” from his life in America. Together with his wife Ling Ling, the couple have been collecting Chinese contemporary art for over 20 years, amassing more than 100 works by many Shanghainese artists. In 2017, they acquired an empty space across the lane from where they reside. Named 166 Art Space, they have created a space with a livingroom-like salon atmosphere where art can be appreciated, discussed and contemplated. Featured artist Jin Shan whose practice involves sculpture, will be in conversation with Art Historian Julie Chun to discuss his latest creations.
